How to clean, air and care for leather boxing gloves
Boxing gloves aren't like sportswear; they require more attention than your average shirt. You can't just take your boxing gloves and throw them in the washing machine.
Due to the materials' special treatment, small details can often go unnoticed. We want to prevent this. Therefore, we'd like to give you some tips for caring for your boxing gloves:
Take the boxing gloves out of the bag after training:
Your boxing gloves are like a shoe: Both get damp inside, and little light can penetrate. You sweat a lot when you train, making the inside of the boxing gloves ideal for bacteria. Removing the boxing gloves from your bag allows some air to penetrate, preventing unpleasant odors from bacteria.
Wipe the boxing gloves clean:
After you return, wipe the boxing gloves with a cloth or towel to remove any excess moisture.
Clean the boxing gloves:
Leather boxing gloves require a little more care than most. You shouldn't use water, as the gloves are meant to dry.
Instead, use a leather conditioner or petroleum jelly after wiping dry.
Air dry the boxing gloves:
Once you're finished cleaning and maintaining your boxing gloves, store them upright and open in a shady area. It's very important that you don't leave them in an area exposed to direct sunlight.
This will keep your leather boxing gloves fresh and clean!
